LAist Studios Launches "Norco ’80" Podcast

LAist Studios, the Los Angeles-based podcast studio behind Apple’s Our Favorites Podcast of 2020 selection California Love, has launched the next production – Norco ’80.

This limited series true-crime story is based on the bestselling book by Peter Houlahan and hosted by Latino USA producer Antonia Cereijido.  Norco ’80 recounts the events of May 1980 when five heavily-armed young men, inspired by an apocalyptic religious movement, attempted to rob a Southern California bank.  The robbers were discovered, several law enforcement agencies gave chase, and the resulting getaway turned towns along the route into war zones.  Part caper, part human drama, part cautionary tale.

Norco ’80 – launched January 11, 2021.

Publishes weekly.
